On Wednesday, March 6th, Perry’s son, Jack, 21, posted a message to his Instagram account. “He was a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, he was always Dad,” he began.
Perry’s daughter, Sophie, 18, also commented on the loss. In a Tuesday, March 5th Instagram post, she wrote, “I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So bear with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”
So many of Perry’s cast members and colleagues, both new and old, are posting their condolences and heartbreak.
I’m finding it hard to grasp that he will no longer be around to give long hugs and share his wisdom and kindness with all of us.
I’m thinking of his family. His children.
I pray for them to heal and find peace in this devastating loss.

Dearest Luke,
I will forever bask in the loving memories we've shared over the last thirty years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here, for those you leave behind.— Ian Ziering (@IanZiering) March 4, 2019
Crushed. Luke Perry was truly a great guy. Warm, kind, generous and hard working. We met very young, I witnessed the grace with which he became a pop icon & parent. He’s been an awesome example of how to stay decent in a swirl of crazy. Love to his family❤️ https://t.co/bGlTX8mNbB

Perry first became a household name when he starred as the iconic Dylan McKay on the hit teen show Beverly Hills, 90210, which premiered in 1990. Many young fans today now best know him as Fred Andrews, Archie Andrews’ father on the hit CW series Riverdale.
According to TMZ, paramedics arrived at Perry’s Sherman Oaks, California home on the 27th, and although he was lucid at the time, his condition took a turn for the worse as he was transported to a local hospital. He was placed in a medically-induced coma shortly after. R.I.P. Luke.
