“Luke Cage” got renewed for a second season, and we’re not surprised
Without a doubt, one of the most anticipated new series this year was Luke Cage. Joining Jessica Jones and Daredevil — two other fantastic shows that Netflix has released from the franchise — it was just announced that Luke Cage was renewed for a second season. Sure, this isn’t a shock, but the news being official is definitely a relief.
There’s just something so soothing about watching Mike Colter, who plays our hero, fight all the bad guys on screen.
For those unaware of the series, Luke Cage is a neighborhood superhero with skin that pretty much makes him completely bulletproof. It seems like a pretty incredible superpower to have. Especially for Luke, who realizes it’s super necessary for survival.
Marvel announced the renewal in a pretty sweet way, through their social media accounts.

Pretty clever. Of course, fans were thrilled to hear the news, many resorting to a popular line used throughout season one, and even during his appearance in Jessica Jones.
SWEET CHRISTMAS

The only bad news? Well, we’re not sure when we’ll be getting a second season. Marvel has a few more shows they’re working on, including The Defenders, which will include Luke, Jessica, Daredevil, and Iron Fist. It’ll be amazing for sure.

Then, there’s also Iron Fist, which has a release date of March 17th of next year.

And of course, the second season of Jessica Jones is also expected to be released sometime in the future. So, let’s just say that Marvel has a pretty packed schedule, as far as their Netflix superhero shows go. It looks like we might need to have a bit of patience — but at least we know that Season 2 will definitely be worth the wait.
