This just in: using emojis may be good for your dating life. Or, rather, using emojis may indicate that you have a good dating life.

Yep, the stats have spoken, and according to Match.com’s fifth annual Singles in America survey, 52% of emoji-slingin’ singles went on at least one first date last year compared to 27% of singles who keep those joyous emojis out of their text lives. Plus, the emoji-lovers are twice as likely to want to get married, and have more active sex lives than the plain-texters.

I give that a big thumbs up + firework + panda face.

So, for those of you who are already in love with emojis and want to try and spice things up, I thought I’d make a list of unexpected emojis that you can use romantically. Because the heart emoji? Big whoop. The red lips followed by the ‘ol flame? Yawn. Is that an eggplant in there? Get out of here. It’s time to think outside the heart-eyes, folks. IT’S TIME.
