It’s sometimes tricky to tell the difference between healthy and toxic relationships. And while the basics like respect and trust are obvious indicators of healthier ones, a clear definition of what either looks like remains to be seen. As if dating wasn’t hard enough without all of the extra baggage, there are couples out there that struggle with not feeling fully accepted in their relationships. From the number of tattoos, to religious preferences, couples not having their partners accept them fully can cause resentment and feelings of worthlessness.

We totally can’t imagine the pain that the partners going through this may feel. Being able to be your completely self, without reservation, around your partner has to give off the most wonderful feeling ever. And our hearts are breaking just thinking about those who don’t have that luxury.

We’re not saying that not seeing eye-to-eye with your partner makes for an unhealthy relationship, or anything. Compromising is a huge part of dating an relationships. But, hiding who your are out of fear that you won’t be accepted by your partner isn’t a healthy compromise.
