Jenna Dewan reveals the super direct (and super silly) way that she and Channing Tatum got together

Jenna Dewan Tatum and Channing Tatum are pretty much the cutest couple ever. The crazy thing, however, is that according to Jenna, Channing didn’t want a relationship when they first met. She obviously changed his mind, and here’s how…

On Tuesday, the 36-year-old actress stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She was there to talk about her new series World of Dance, but of course, things turned to her and her husband.

During the interview, the Supergirl actress talked about dating her now-husband back on the set of Step Up in 2006. She admitted that she was all-in from pretty much the beginning, but her husband wasn’t exactly on board.

"He did this whole thing where he didn’t want to be in a relationship, so I was like, ‘Look, if you want to date other people and be free, that’s fine, but we’re not going to hang out and watch movies,'" she told Ellen. "'You’ve got to figure out what you want, because I know I want to be in a relationship with you.'"

Woo, you go girl. Tell it like it is!

The Connecticut native then told the story about when he changed his mind, and it’s hilarious. Jenna recalled that a few days after they talked, Channing went out drinking with some of the dancers from the movie.

“He said he had the chance ‘to be free’ and he couldn’t stop thinking about me,” she explained. The reason she knew this is because he showed up at her hotel room at 2 a.m. that night.

When he arrived from his “wild tequila night,” his outfit was a little odd.

"I go and open the door — he's going to kill me for this — and he has [on] underwear, a sombrero, and Ugg boots, and he’s like, 'Let's do this,'" she said.

The couple then spent the night together, and when they arrived on set the next day they were greeted by applause.

Okay, this is just the cutest — and most ridiculous — story ever. We love how Jenna stuck to her guns and got her man by being honest.

Plus, now they’ve been married for eight years and we couldn’t imagine them apart.
