Gwyneth Paltrow says attempting to co-parent with Chris Martin "was the most difficult thing I've ever done"
Relationships are hard work, and they’re even harder after they end. And it’s even harder when there are children involved. In a new interview for The Edit, Gwyneth Paltrow discussed the layers of the criticism she gets, including during her divorce from Chris Martin.
Back in 2014, Gwyneth explained that she was “consciously uncoupling” from her then-husband Chris, and at first, the internet really didn’t get it. But now Gwyneth and Chris are officially divorced and yet look like the perfect picture of co-parenting, and we’ve started to realize that maybe Gwyneth had the right idea all along.
Gwyneth Paltrow tried to make her divorce as easy as possible for her kids, but that meant staying close with her ex-husband.
Gwyneth explained that her divorce was one of the hardest things she’s ever had to deal with because she comes from a family of successful marriages. But at a certain point, they had to split up. But Gwyneth didn’t want it to ruin their lives.
Gwyneth decided to focus on what she still loved about Chris to foster their friendship. But she still admitted it was “the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life.” We think it’s so mature and impressive that she and Chris manage to stay friends. And they make such a sweet family. We’re glad to know they’re still so happy.
