Relationships take work, but genuinely connecting with and loving another human being beyond race, color, gender, or religion should be celebrated — because it really does make life a little sweeter. And it seems the internet agrees, since we’ve recently noticed people using the Twitter hashtag #PoCInLove to celebrate their diverse relationships in all their glory.

The #PoCInLove hashtag has been around for a while now, but it’s still going strong.

It was created by Twitter user @PoCBeauty to bring visibility to relationships between people of color. The wonderful user behind the account encouraged others to, “Post a picture of you with your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, etc. using the hashtag #PoCInLove. All couples of color are welcome (poly, LGBTQ+).” Perfect for Pride Month!

And since then, countless tweeters have shared adorable photos of themselves with their partners.

While speaking with BuzzFeed, the owner of the Twitter account said she created the hashtag because of the lack of couples of color and LGBT couples portrayed in media.

“People don’t realize when you’re not included in mainstream representation, you create your own representation,” she continued. “Hence how I started my page.”

Now, grab your box of tissues and scroll through these seriously cute snaps of people of color in love! #PoCInLove

Some got a little poetic with it…

This lovely couple showed off their love and their accomplishments.

Seriously, could these two be any cuter?

“Cause the spaces between my fingers are right where yours fit perfectly…”

Love is…

“It’s important all types of love are celebrated,” @PoCBeauty said. “Relationships are hard as it is but it’s even harder when you’re dealing with racism, homophobia, or your families not accepting your partner.”

At the end of the day, representation is key! It makes our hearts so happy to see people taking the initiative to share their love with the world.
