This college freshman took the BEST thing to his dorm we can imagine
Starting college can be scary (graduating can be even scarier), especially when you have to leave your favorite stuff behind. 19-year-old Jake Ostrowski’s mom gave him the perfect going-away gift when she learned he was sad about leaving his golden retriever Jesse behind.
Jake’s mom gets all the applause.
When Ostrowski began packing up for his first year at Texas Tech University, he was pretty sad he couldn’t take his dog to live with him because #dormlife. That’s when his clever mom, Sharla, surprised him with the funniest, more adorable present ever.
“My mom got me a cardboard cutout of my dog to take with me to college,” he tweeted.
“I love my dog – he sleeps with me every night,” Ostrowski told Buzzfeed News. “I’ve been really sad because I’ve got to leave him to go to college.”
Jesse is a natural when it comes to modeling. No wonder he’s become an Internet hit. false
The 19-year-old student, who is from Houston, gushed about his mom’s thoughtful gift.
“It was probably the best gift I’ve ever received,” Ostrowski told New York Magazine.
Now that the 19-year-old Houston native is a social media sensation, we’re sure he’ll adjust to the college life in no time. He’ll definitely have a fun story to share at parties.
“I’ve had tons of people quoting the tweet saying that they’re gonna do this now or telling their own mom to take note,” he said.
It looks like the freshman’s furry friend Jesse is loving this thing called fame because he can’t stop posing for the camera. We’re not complaining.
Ostrowski couldn’t help but say his dog is “perfect,” and we couldn’t agree more.
