Our A Tale of Two Besties tour continued last night with a stop in Houston! Here’s what Houston-based HG contributor Alyse Butler had to say:

HG co-founder and new YA author Sophia Rossi came to Houston last night to share her experience as a bestie and to hear from some besties too! Rossi sat down with Megan Silianoff and Paige Budde, two friends who live here in Houston, as they discussed their friendship, and then she asked those of us in attendance some questions about blogging, friendships, and what we love.

After the discussion, we all waited in line with our copies of A Tale of Two Besties for Sophia to sign. Posters and goodie bags were given, warm cookies were being eaten, and we could even have an illustration drawn by Rongrong DeVoe, an illustrator living here in Houston. The atmosphere was so laid-back that it was easy to strike up conversations with whoever was closest, even though we were all mostly strangers. It was as if the energy HelloGiggles conveys through its inviting and positive message was personified in the room. Everyone there was genuinely interested in each other; no one was judging anyone else and it felt amazing.

The evening was full of encouragement and connection. It was a lovely time, and I would encourage anyone who lives in a city where Sophia and the HelloGiggles team will be passing through to stop by and say ‘hey’. I’m sure there will be something for you to enjoy!

If you’re coming to one of our events, we’d love to see you! Post your photos with #ATaleofTwoBesties and tag @hellogiggles.
