Just two short months ago, actress Naomi Watts split from her longtime beau of 11 years, Liev Schreiber. And Naomi Watts breakup advice are proof that Watts and Schrieber are totally #breakupgoals all the way. There is no denying that breaking up with your partner of over a decade has got to be difficult. In her first public acknowledgement since word of their split broke our own hearts, Naomi is giving us some honest breakup advice that we’ll store in our back pocket.

When asked about how things are going without her former love, Watts shed some light on an experience that affects us all. She said, “I feel I’m in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy, and things are going to go well. Those are my hopes for me and for all of us.”

We are so happy to know that the Watts-Schreiber clan is doing well during this time of adjustment. Naomi also touched on the core issue that bothers many of us post-breakup. She added, “I feel, whether you’re famous or not, transitions are scary for anybody. I feel like change is always scary, but that’s only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go.”

She’s got a point. One of the most intimidating part of a breakup is not being alone, but more so coping with the inevitable change that comes alongside what could (depending on your relationship) be such a drastic and sad experience. Breakups always suck, and we’re sure they are even worse for folks in the public eye. However, Naomi and Liev seem to be doing as best they can to keep level heads and perspective. Safe to say we are inspired by Naomi Watts and her spot on breakup advice. We hope that her and Liev can continue to peacefully co-parent and show their sons Alexander and Samuel that all you need is love.
