America Ferrera and her husband wore matching outfits and we'd like to join in
One celeb who has been such an instrumental figure in the women’s movement is America Ferrera. International Women’s Day on March 8th meant so much to many women, but we know A Day Without a Woman was particularly meaningful to Ferrera. And she proved that on Instagram, since one of her more recent posts shows Ferrera and her husband Ryan Piers Williams spending the day at Los Angeles City Hall in matching shirts that said what was on their minds.
After Ferrera spoke at the Women’s March on Washington, D.C., as the chair of the Artists’ Committee, we knew A Day Without a Woman would be another time for Ferrera to shine. She did so by taking part in the downtown LA rally and rocking a fabulous shirt with her hubby.
Their matching, appropriately red-colored shirts for International Women’s Day say:
If you want one of these shirts for your own, Ferrera commented on the post that they will be available for sale on www.undocumedia.org/store starting on Friday, March 10th at 12:00 p.m. PT. Another person — Instagram user elsamariecollins — commented that the shirts will be available at www.undocumedia.com.
Either way, if you want one of those shirts or want to learn about the immigrant rights group, check out www.undocumedia.org.
While the t-shirts are amazing in their own right, another thing that warms our heart is the solidarity that Ferrera and her husband share. As she wrote:
In order to achieve equality, we need people of every gender to unite. Not only did Ferrera and Williams highlight that on International Women’s Day, but they also showed that you can use a day about women to show that ALL human rights matter.
