Louis C.K. joked about 9/11 and used more offensive language in his latest standup set, because he really doesn’t get it

A little more than a year after Louis C.K. admitted to masturbating in front of women without their consent, he’s staging a return to comedy that nobody asked for. The embattled comedian has performed several sets since September 2018, and his new repertoire contains deeply offensive material about everything from the Parkland survivors to the LGBTQ community. At a recent performance in San Jose, California, C.K. was reportedly at it again, mocking 9/11, mentally disabled children, and sexual harassment.

The Daily Beast reports that at a January 16th set at the San Jose Improv Comedy Club, he began by joking about his own misconduct.

“I like to jerk off, and I don’t like being alone,” C.K. reportedly said, to laughter from the audience.

Things only went downhill from there.

Around the show’s halfway point, C.K. reportedly made a 9/11 joke about a woman on a plane asking him to move so she could sit with her husband. The comedian joked that the man was gesturing that he didn’t want to sit with his wife.

"I didn’t know what to do," C.K. reportedly said. "I don’t wanna upset him. But I don’t wanna sit with his fucking wife. So I just got off the plane. And then the plane took off. And it hit the World Trade Center."

C.K. also reportedly repeated a joke about being sent to a camp for mentally disabled children, who he referred to with the slur “retarded.”

According to the San Francisco ChronicleC.K. will perform two more sets at the San Jose Improv tonight, January 17th. All three of his appearances at the venue sold out. At the comedian’s January 16th performance, 30 people, including many from the Enough is Enough Voter Project, protested outside. One of the show’s attendees even punched a man who was protesting across the street as part of a separate group.

In C.K.’s November 2017 apology (which was more of a non-apology) for his sexual harassment, he pledged that he would “step back and take a long time to listen.” But clearly, if C.K. has been listening to the criticism against him at all, he’s decided to ignore it. It’s time for this comedian to be canceled.
