Lorde surprised this sweet barista by asking her to go to the Governors Ball Music Fest with her
The amazingly talented and beautiful Lorde has always been one of our favorites. We love how down-to-earth and seemingly chill she is. We didn’t think we could adore her more! Until today, that is. We just found out she invited a cashier, who had just gotten the job, to check out her performance at the Governors Ball this weekend — for free!
Twitter user @ThatEmely was just going about her day working at Liquiteria in NYC when she got a surprise visit from Lorde. Our cashier was understandably flipping out. She says in the video:
“This is my first smoothie for a famous person. She got a Blue Velvet. I am shook.” Lol. We would be too!

She captioned the video, “She made my morning,” but she didn’t know that there was more in store for her later in the day!
So, then, Ayesha gets a Twitter DM from LORDE HERSELF. Asking her to come to the Governors Ball with her. For free! To congratulate Ayesha on her new job. Look at this adorable exchange:

Lorde will be performing on Friday night! She will likely be performing music from her upcoming album, Melodrama. She’ll be dropping a new single that very day!
She revealed earlier this year that she has a neurological condition, synesthesia, which she says helped her finish her album. Synesthesia causes one’s brain to sometimes get the lines crossed between sounds and colors, so when Lorde hears sounds she also at times sees color.
“From the moment I start something, I can see the finished song, even if it’s far-off and foggy. It’s about getting the actual thing to sound like what I’ve been seeing.”
