OMG! Lorde is going to do “SNL,” which means new music is definitely on the way

Finally the time is upon us! Lorde is set to perform on Saturday Night Livewhich means that new music is just around the corner.

If you can believe it, it’s been nearly four (!) years since Lorde burst onto the scene and released her debut album, the incredible Pure Heroine. Since then, the star has been badgered by her fans on social media CONSTANTLY, with some asking whether the followup would ever materialize.

Then, on her 20th birthday, Lorde penned a stunning letter to the world where she opened up about her life and what she had been up to in the years since her debut, saying that she felt like she needed to go and experience the world, saying that she’d had “a colossal year! One for the ages.”

Now it seems that Lorde’s return to music could come sooner than expected.

In fact, it could be coming in just two weeks!

A tweet sent out by Saturday Night Live confirmed that Lorde would be performing on the show on March 11th, and OH MY GOODNESS IT’S TIME TO FREAK OUT.

The news comes after a leaked memo by Republic Records seemed to confirm that the singer was set to release the lead single from the second album on March 7th. Similarly, the singer seems set to play a string of festival dates this summer, too.

If this is the case, the song would be the first solo offering from the singer since her 2014 song “Yellow Flicker Beat,” which was taken from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack.

Of course, little to no information is known about what Lorde is up to, but we’re SUPER excited to see how her time away from the spotlight has informed her music. Our fingers are crossed that the rumors are true and that new music from Lorde is just over the horizon.
