Hilary Duff and the Lizzie McGuire cast reunited to read one of the show’s most iconic episodes

Lizzie McGuire fans finally got the reunion they’ve been waiting for—but not in the way they expected. Fans of the early-aughts sitcom have been anxiously awaiting the revival series for months now, but production delays and social-distancing restrictions have made that revival more up-in-the-air than ever. However, the OG cast just brought Lizzie McGuire to us on their own terms. That’s right: The Lizzie McGuire cast reunited to read one of the most iconic episodes in the series over Zoom, and we were transported back to 2001 in the best way.

On May 11th, Hilary Duff posted an IGTV to her Instagram account explaining that the cast wanted to reunite to provide some entertainment for everyone isolating right now.

The 44-minute video begins with Duff introducing the entire cast one-by-one before they dive into the episode, “Between a Rock and a Bra Place!”

The Zoom reunion marked the first time the cast had all been “together” (though virtually) in 18 years. Duff summed up the reunion in her Instagram caption.

“We could not stop laughing reading lines from tween us…this is the first time we were all “together-ish” in almost 18 years!” she wrote. “This week marks the 19th anniversary of this episode ‘Between a Rock and a Bra Place! Do excuse our delayed singing…we will be taking singing lessons as a group to work on our craft!!”

Who could forget the Season 1 episode, “Between a Rock and a Bra Place,” when Lizzie and Miranda shop for their first bras, only to be totally embarrassed by Mrs. McGuire?

It gave us the simple, yet iconic Lizzie line that would echo in GIFs for years to come: “I want a bra!”

We love seeing the cast all grown up—Adam Lamberg, aka Gordo, is rocking quite the quarantine mustache, and Bobby Carradine, who plays Sam McGuire, has a full beard and long hair. Carradine acknowledged the grown-out look by saying, “You can tell I’ve been in quarantine for quite a while.”

This reunion totally transported us back to our tween mindset, and now we’re even more anxious for the real revival to air. Regardless, we appreciate the dedication the Lizzie Mcguire cast has to entertaining us during quarantine.
