There are going to be live Pixar concerts, and we’re already in line
We largely have Pixar to thank for some of our favorite childhood classics, and now we can see them come to life with Pixar Live!
Disney announced that beginning this summer, it will feature nightly showings of “The Music of Pixar Live! A Symphony of Characters” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. Disney will show three shows a night. The shows will feature everyone’s favorite Pixar characters, including Toy Story’s Woody, and Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. Also The Incredibles characters will apparently make an appearance.
The performance will also be accompanied by an orchestra on the same stage that hosts “Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage.” Though Disney has provided limited details, it’s likely the show will be similar to Pixar’s traveling concert series. These shows included ballads from classics like Up, Finding Nemo, and Brave in partnership with the the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Disney keeps pulling out the stops in recent months, and we cannot get enough.
Last month, it launched a Beauty and the Beast themed pop-up restaurant at its Disneyland resort in California. The restaurant, called Red Rose Taverne, featured a full menu inspired by the movie, with items like “Enchanted Cauliflower Sandwich.”
We can only hope that the performance includes appearances from our other favorites, like Finding Dory and Inside Out. Just imagine how great it would be to have special guest appearances at these concerts from voice actors like Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling.
One can dream!
The shows officially begin on May 26. There is no announced end date, though is expected to run through the summer. So hurry and get your tickets!
