The Little Women trailer is officially here, and fans are swooning over Jo and Laurie

When we first learned that Greta Gerwig would be remaking Little Women, we couldn’t wait to watch this updated version of the March sisters’ stories. And we were even more excited when we learned that the movie would be a Ladybird reunion, with Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet taking leading roles in an already star-studded cast. Now, the trailer for the upcoming movie has arrived, and we are joyful about how good it looks.

The first trailer for Little Women dropped today, August 13th. The two-and-a-half minute video is full of feminist quips from Ronan’s Jo March, Meryl Streep as the scolding Aunt March, and a few glimpses of the internet’s boyfriend, Chalamet, as Laurie Lawrence. The trailer even includes Laurie’s iconic confession to Jo: “I have loved you ever since I’ve known you.”

We also got our first looks at Emma Watson as Meg, Florence Pugh as Amy, Eliza Scanlen as Beth, and Laura Dern as Marmee. According to VarietyBob Odenkirk, Chris Cooper, and James Norton are also included in the cast. Little Women is set to be released on December 25th, which means we’re officially counting down the days until Christmas.

Little Women may be set in the 19th century, but the coming-of-age story has continued to resonate with readers (and viewers) over the years. And we have a feeling that Gerwig’s newest adaptation will be no exception. Dern told ET Online that after re-reading Louisa May Alcott’s book, she felt it was “so radical and so incredibly modern.”

Ronan added: "The story [is] so relevant now to the confidence that women have in themselves and in taking their own path."

We can’t wait to catch the new Little Women remake in theaters.
