The first “Little Women” trailer is here, and we’re having ’90s flashbacks

Remember Little Women?

The beloved book by Louisa May Alcott stole our hearts as children. The ’90s movie, starring Winona Ryder as Jo March, made sure it would stay there. And now, the first Little Women trailer for the BBC/PBS miniseries is already making us totally nostalgic.

BBC One and PBS Masterpiece announced its Little Women miniseries back in May. Though we had our first look at Little Women and the March sisters in October, the new trailer means we finally get to see the entire gang…including a new millennial Laurie! *swoon*

Originally published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869, Little Women follows sisters Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March. The novel, which chronicles the girls’ childhoods spent in poverty through their coming of age stories, is a perennial favorite. The lessons are so important to young girls and boys alike — and in a time when the whole world seems a bit out of sorts, it’s nice to revisit an adventure that brings us joy.

Prepare yourself for all sorts of feels, though. The trailer alone brings back sweet memories of watching Christian Bale become enamored with Winona Ryder in the ’90s. (Who else thinks they were totally meant for each other?) And who can forget Beth’s sweet but tragic story?

Watch the trailer for the new Little Women series below.

From the looks of it, Laurie is as dreamy as ever, and Jo is just as headstrong as she always was. The trailer is sure to bring a few tears to your eyes, so keep some tissues on hand for repeat viewings. (Just imagine what will happen when we actually watch the series!)

So, yes, we’re super excited to see what the Little Women miniseries is going to be like. But if the trailer is any indication, we can relax knowing it will stay pretty true to the story we know and love. Are you ready to see the March sisters again?
