This bald little girl found a dazzling way to participate in her school’s “Crazy Hair Day”
If you need help warming your heart this spring weekend, we’ve got you covered. Because a little girl and her mom knocked it out of the park for Crazy Hair Day at school, and now they’re winning the internet. Not only was their idea super creative, but 7-year-old Gianessa Wride looked absolutely stunning.
In January, Gianessa was diagnosed with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss on the scalp, face, and sometimes on other areas of the body. Her mom, Daniella Wride, told Yahoo Beauty that her hair fell out over the course of three weeks after the family had a pretty stressful year.
Even though Gianessa is now completely bald, she doesn’t let her lack of hair stop her from enjoying life to the max.
When Gianessa’s school celebrated Crazy Hair Day back in March, her mom didn’t want her to miss out on the festivities. So she did what any loving, creative mom would do — she turned Crazy Hair Day into Crazy Head Day and bedazzled her daughter’s head.
"Last year, I styled her hair into a unicorn horn," Daniella told Yahoo Beauty. "This year, we decided to decorate her head with stickers."
She posted the photos to Instagram, and they have since gone viral.
Daniella captioned the photos, “It’s crazy ‘head’ day today! I must say she looks absolutely stunning! #alopecia #alopeciaareata #crazyhairday #baldisbeautiful #gorgeous #brave #firstgrade #youthinkyourehavingabadhairday”
Gianessa’s head decorations were such a hit, she won the best look in her class, according to Redbook. The school even renamed the day “Crazy Head Day” to include all students.
"We're making bald fun and fashionable," Daniella told Yahoo Beauty.
They most definitely are!
