Listen to Fifth Harmony’s first track without Camila Cabello
Five have become four, but that hasn’t stopped Fifth Harmony from releasing a brand new song, their first without Camila Cabello in the group.
The track, titled “Down,” was announced earlier this week, and marks the first time the group, comprised of Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui, have released music since Cabello left the group late last year. The group have performed as a four-piece since, and in January this year confirmed that they’d headed back to the studio to work on new music. They even shared a hot red picture of the group as a foursome.

Well, patient Harmonizers have finally been rewarded as Fifth Harmony have just dropped their first single without Camila Cabello, the summery bop “Down.”

The track is slinky R&B pop bop, which features rapper Gucci Mane, and is reminiscent of the group’s megahit “Work From Home.” In fact, the song was was co-written by the band themselves, as well as Ammo, songwriter Jude Demorest, and DallasK, the trio behind the group’s freelancing anthem, so the similarities are understandable.

Following the song’s release, fans on social media had a total meltdown.

The song is the first taste from the group’s upcoming third album, which is expected for release later this year. The release of the track comes two weeks after Camila Cabello launched her solo career with the Sia-penned dance ballad “Crying in the Club.”
Meanwhile, band member Lauren Jauregui recently teamed up with alt-pop singer Halsey for a same-sex love song that absolutely BANGS. The track, titled “Strangers,” is taken from Halsey’s new album, hopeless fountain kingdom, which, as fate would have it, is also out today.
