Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino had an IRL Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion

For many of us, the thought of a high school reunion is downright terrifying, especially more than 20 years after the fact. But for Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow (aka Romy and Michele, duh!), spotting your best pal from high school is, like, totally cutting edge…and a bigger deal than inventing the Post-It note.

The two actresses met up at a Netflix party recently and posed for photos together, and while they didn’t seem to be wearing duds they bought with a businesswoman’s special, they were thrilled to see each other. And Romy and Michele fans are swooning with nostalgia at their IRL reunion.

On September 24th, both Kudrow and Sorvino shared the cutest photos of them hanging out at the party, with Kudrow writing that the surprise meet-up was the “most thrilling moment for me at a party EVER!” and calling her co-star from the beloved 1997 cult film a “genuinely GOOD person.”

Sorvino returned the praise in her own caption, calling Kudrow “incomparable” and writing, “and I’m gonna be lucky enough to hang w/her again Friday! Woohoo!! Love this woman!!”

Of course, fans immediately wondered what could be in store for the pair’s next hangout session…like, could a Romy and Michele reboot or sequel be in the works?

Before we get ahead of ourselves, we have no idea if a sequel is in the works at all or if these two simply just want to hang out and catch up. But we do know both stars are on board with bringing back their iconic characters.

In 2017, in honor of the film’s 20-year anniversary, Sorvino told E! News, “I would be very excited for [a sequel]. I’ve wanted one for years! There’s been a lot of fan clamor for it—maybe it will finally happen now with all the different venues you can make movies for.”

Kudrow echoed the sentiment, saying, “Well, sure. Yeah, why not? I mean…if it makes sense for those two people to be around my age and see what’s going on.”

At this point, it seems too early to tell whether these two are cooking something up. But we do love that they’re still friends after all these years, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that our favorite onscreen BFFs reunite one more time. Even if they don’t, we hope they share some selfies for fans to enjoy, and that their hangout is one of the very best nights of their entire lives.
