You can stream Dirty Dancing and other faves for free with Lionsgate’s Friday night movies

Weirdly enough, quarantine and social distancing has made us miss having a schedule. We’re kind of craving the need to be somewhere at a certain time. Now, luckily, Lionsgate has fulfilled that need. The entertainment company will begin live-streaming some of its most famous movies starting at 9 p.m. ET every Friday for the next four weeks. So, basically, they’re creating the feeling of catching a movie at the theater, but from home.

According to Time Out, Lionsgate just launched Lionsgate Live!, its brand-new “streaming service” on YouTube. It’s totally free to tune in. All you have to do is be on time.

The movie nights start tomorrow, April 17th, with The Hunger Games.

From there, one movie will air each Friday night for the next four weeks. On April 24th, Lionsgate will show Dirty Dancing. La La Land airs May 1st, and John Wick goes live on May 8th.

Each live stream will be hosted by the one and only Jamie Lee Curtis, who will be joined by “special guest celebrities and YouTube personalities,” according to a press release.

Though the movies are free, Lionsgate does suggest viewers donate to the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation. The foundation provides financial assistance to theater employees furloughed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

So, it’s a date. Meet in the living room at 9 p.m. ET to check out the first of four films set to go live in the coming weeks. Finally, there’s something we need to show up for (yes!).
