This lingerie photoshoot celebrates the beauty of trans and non-binary bodies

Everyone has the right to feel sexy and powerful, no matter their gender identity or expression. And while females and femme-identifying people have the ability to find lingerie that fit their bodies with ease, trans and non-binary folks have a more difficult time finding the perfect negligee. Bluestockings Boutique was founded by Jeanna Kadlec when she realized there was no lingerie boutique that catered to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Not only does the brand sell pieces like packing boxers, and feature fitting notes in clothing descriptions for transfeminine customers, but Bluestockings is also ethical and even offers discounts to students and sex workers.

Jeanna, who identifies as queer, teamed up with Sonny Oram of Qwear, a platform that showcases LGBTQIA+ modes of expression, to celebrate the beauty in trans and non-conforming bodies for a photoshoot that’s giving us life. With every model identifying somewhere on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, and half being trans and non-binary, this is what the future of fashion and lingerie should look like. Jeanna talked to HelloGiggles about the inspiration behind this shoot, saying,

"Last month was Pride, and while we saw a lot of brands rolling out rainbow t-shirts and sneakers, we didn't see many brands committing to more inclusive imagery featuring a multiplicity of bodies. We didn't see major brands challenging their own gender binary in how they talk about a "men's" and "women's" section. Photoshoots like this one are vital for reflecting the LGBTQIA+ community back to ourselves and saying, you are beautiful. You are valuable. You are seen."

Although Jeanna doesn’t believe that any brand can truly be feminist (hello, capitalism), her own goal with Bluestockings is to make it as intersectional as possible.
