This Lineup of Fall Shows is Pretty Kickass
Ah, May. Birds are singing, tan lines are forming and *gasp* TV shows are having finales. It’s a conflicting time of year when I’m so excited for the summer but also so bummed about the loss of my best friends (TV characters, obviously). Summer TV is mainly reruns and really, we should all be outside and being active and blah blah blah instead of inside with our TVs! But fear not, because this time of year is ALSO when networks announce new shows for the fall! Hooray!
Here are some awesome (and, of course, mostly female-centered) new comedies we can’t wait for!
Marry Me
Ken Marino and Casey Wilson….
Okay sorry, I have to cut myself off right here. KEN MARINO AND CASEY WILSON. Together. Starring in a show. If someone asked me, “hey, Erin, who do you want on your TV screen forever and always?” my answer would be KEN MARINO AND CASEY WILSON. No joke.
This show is about a newly engaged couple, trying to figure out life and is coming to us from Happy Endings creator David Caspe. I pretty much can’t imagine a show I’d be more excited for. Ever. In the world. Seriously, is this show on the air yet?
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Guys. It’s happening again but this time the two names are: Tina Fey and Ellie Kemper. I’ve very much enjoyed Ellie Kemper’s guest spots on The Mindy Project and you know I’ve been mourning the loss of Tina Fey’s 30 Rock since the credits rolled.
The show is about Ellie Kemper’s character escaping a doomsday cult and starting over in New York. I really don’t need to know anything else, I’ll follow Tina Fey anywhere. The only thing missing from this show for me is actually having Tina Fey IN it.
Angie Tribeca
Okay this one isn’t scheduled until early 2015 but who cares? It stars Rashida Jones and is written by Steve and Nancy Carell! It’s a cop comedy and given my current love for Brooklyn Nine-Nine I’m so excited about this one. It takes place in L.A. and has Rashida Jones working in the RHCU (really heinous crimes unit). My love for Law and Order: SVU knows no bounds so that reference alone means I cannot wait.
Will you be on the lookout for these shows? What other new shows are you excited for?
