Olympian Lindsey Vonn’s dog is already a meme, and she deserves a gold medal for cuteness

The 2018 Olympics are officially underway in PyeongChang. And even though it’s been less than 24 hours, we already have our first meme of the winter games. It features Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn and her adorable pup Lucy arriving in Korea. While Lindsey Vonn is smiling, Lucy appears to be, well, less than thrilled. Probably because PyeongChang is so many hours ahead of the U.S. — it’s 14 hours ahead of the Eastern time zone, to be exact. All of that air travel and jet lag is enough to confuse anyone, so we totally relate. Especially considering that what should have been a 14-hour flight became a 24-hour travel nightmare.
On the road to PyeongChang, Lindsey Vonn kept her followers updated on her travel situation. And for a while, it wasn’t looking good. She tweeted that her flight was delayed on the tarmac for about six hours and that they had to switch planes at one point. It took a full 24 hours to get there, but they made it. With nothing to do but wait, Lindsey Vonn was active on Twitter, updating everyone on the flight situation and responding to questions from her followers. She even noted that Lucy was relaxed and slept through the whole debacle. But little did Vonn know that soon, Lucy would become the first meme of the 2018 Olympics.
We made it!!! It took exactly 24 hours… but we are here!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

After they landed, Lindsey Vonn posted this pic.
And of course, Twitter had jokes.
Lucy is a little terrified. LOL 🤣
I think that it’s by this 24-hour journey. What do you think, @lindseyvonn? pic.twitter.com/ftQtqJzGLh— patrycja (@PATIJK13) February 8, 2018
Team USA got in on the fun and turned Lucy into a meme.

Lucy, you win a gold medal for cuteness.
We’re looking forward to more Lucy Vonn pics (and memes, if you’ve got ’em) as the Olympics continue!
