Lin-Manuel Miranda’s centerpiece at an event was climate science books, and this looks like a pretty good reading list
From his musical talent to his acting, it seems like Lin-Manuel Miranda can do no wrong. He’s also addressed important causes, like aid for Puerto Rico. Now, Lin-Manuel Miranda is taking on climate change. This week, he attended the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund Gala with his wife. He posted about the night on Twitter, even sharing a shot of the table’s centerpieces at the party. They were stacks of books, and TBH, it looks like a pretty good reading list.
You may remember that Miranda’s been vocal — erm, and musical — about the issue of climate change before. Back in April, he participated in the March for Science. And who could forget his climate change-themed playlist on Spotify? BTW, if you haven’t listed to that playlist, we suggest you do. Songs include Earth- and weather-themed tunes such as “Hot in Herre” by Nelly and “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” by R.E.M. So clever (as usual)!
But right now, we’re pretty into the books Lin-Manuel Miranda highlighted on Twitter.

So on point, right? And in case you’re curious, the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund is all about science, of course.
“We were established with one goal: to protect the scientific endeavor, their website states. “Legal actions against scientists are also attacks on the scientific endeavor as a whole, which slow or prevent critical advancements in technology, medicine, and our understanding of the planet. The Climate Science Legal Defense Fund (CSLDF) works to defend climate scientists who are dragged into litigation or otherwise threatened with legal attacks and harassment by politically and ideologically motivated groups.
It goes without saying that the twitterverse loved Miranda’s tweet.
Tell me you were allowed to take them home that would be the coolest gala EVER

But Lin-Manuel sums up our feelings perfectly in one last tweet.
For real though I am so proud of my wife of being a defender of science (and yes we got to take books home)

On that note, we’d better go add these books to our reading list and start reading, STAT…
