Lily Rose Depp threw herself a sour sixteen

What do you think when you hear the term “Sweet Sixteen”? Probably balloons, dancing and LOTS of glitter. Well Lily Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny Depp, had a different idea, but it looks equally as fun.

She threw herself a “sour sixteen,” which seems to be fun and angsty interpretation of the usually fluffy and bouncy tradition.

While her birthday was May 27, Lily has been sharing pictures of the evening on Instagram all week. Donned in a necklace of what appear to be sour apples, Lily gives us her best pout as her ironic way of embracing the occasion.

In other photos, she’s posing with friends, holding a sword that I can only hope is a reference to her father’s iconic role in Pirates of the Caribbean as Captain Jack Sparrow.

She even refers to the venue, where she had dinner with her mom, her dad and his new wife Amber Heard, as her “sweet sixteen dungeon,” really embracing the kooky and dark theme that we’d expect from any Depp relative.

If you don’t know much about Lily, you will soon. She’ll be joining her father on the big screen in the upcoming movie “Yoga Hosers,” and we can’t wait to see how she brings this creative and and eccentric spirit to her work.

Teens gotta teen, and if “sour sixteen” is Lily’s chosen way to express her celebration, then we’re totally behind it. I might even throw one of my own. “Sour 23” is a thing, right?
