Lily-Rose Depp hops aboard the tuxedo trend train for her latest red carpet look
In 2017, celebrities are saying “au revoir” to stuffy fashion rules on the red carpet and “bonjour” to expressing their individual style. And we’re loving it. The latest star to ditch a dress for a tuxedo is Chanel model Lily-Rose Depp, and she totally owned it.
We saw the tuxedo trend start to take off last year, with many of Hollywood’s coolest ladies like Zendaya and Kate Beckinsale owning the red carpet in tuxedos. But it wasn’t until the Golden Globes that the tux cemented itself as one of the biggest trends of the year. Yes, we’re only a few weeks in to 2017, but with Evan Rachel Wood’s tux tribute to David Bowie (and her declaration that dresses are not a red carpet requirement), we are officially all about the tux.
Lily-Rose stepped out yesterday at a dinner party in Paris, which sounds like the most dreamy night out ever, btw. While celebrating at luxury French jewelry brand Chaumet’s dinner for Cesar’s Revelations, she obviously chose a gorgeous Chanel creation for her big red carpet moment. But instead of a Chanel gown, Lily-Rose mixed it up in a totally on-trend tux.
Lily-Rose’s take on the tuxedo trend was perfect — she rocked a tailored black tux with a loose black tie, and pulled it off effortlessly.
Lily-Rose kept her accessories and makeup simple, and tied her hair back in chic loose waves. But the best part of her look? Those hot pink satin heels that gave a perfect pop of color.
Sorry, red carpet gowns. We’re living for the tuxedo these days.
