We know who Lily Rabe is going to play in ‘AHS: Hotel’ and yes, it will terrify you
We’ve been impatiently waiting, but the new season of AHS is finally on the horizon —and we’re learning all kinds of things about this horrifying new season. We’ve been told that Lady Gaga, who plays a hotel owner, has a “a nefarious plan” for her tenants. Max Greenfield has undergone a wild transformation for his role in the series. And now, we’ve been given some news about Lily Rabe —one of our fave AHS regulars.
The lovely actress will be back, but her character is mega dark: She’ll be portraying Aileen Wuornos, the most notorious female serial killer of all time. We knew it was going to be intense, but American Horror Story: Hotel is SERIOUSLY. GOING. THERE.
Aileen Wuornos is known for killing seven of her clients when she worked as a prostitute. She suffered from many mental health issues, and claimed all of her murders were done out of self-defense. Wuornos was executed by lethal injection in Florida State Prison in 2002. So basically, things are gonna get INTENSE (as they always are on AHS).
Rabe’s character will unfold in AHS‘ two-part Halloween special called “Devil’s Night.” Ryan Murphy told the Los Angeles Times, “Lily Rabe is coming to that episode. And she’s playing Aileen Wuornos, which is really fun and bizarre. I don’t want to give too much away but I will tell you that she’s at the centerpiece of that, and that’s who she’s playing.”
Plus — Rabe’s new character might be the key to what connects Season 4 and 5. According to Who Say, one of Wuornos’ victims was Peter Siems, “a retired merchant seaman who spent much of his time as a Christian outreach ministry,” who moved from Jupiter, Florida to New Jersey. But he never made it. “His car was eventually found in another part of Florida, and it had Wuornos’ palm print on the interior door handle. Siems body was never found,” Who Say reports.
And if you’re wondering why “Jupiter, Florida” seems so familiar, it’s because it is —that’s where AHS: Freak Show took place. Who Say goes so far as to wonder if Siems is the son of Jimmy Darling and Bette and Dotte Tattler. Whoa.
Other AHS: Hotel stars include Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloe Sevigny, Dennis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson and Finn Wittrock. Is it October 7th yet?! This season sounds like it’s going to be the best—and most terrifying—one yet.
