“Riverdale” star Lili Reinhart shared why it’s so important to talk about mental health
There are quite a few stars who are open about mental health, and Lili Reinhart is one of them. The Riverdale starlet talked to Teen Vogue about the importance of discussing mental health.
There area a lot of reasons to love Lili Reinhart. She has wardrobe malfunctions at award shows and pulls them off with ease. She talks about her struggle with acne. Lili is very open about everything going on in her life.
Basically, she’s amazing.
In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, Lili talked about everything from her skincare tips to what she learned from her cast mates on Riverdale. But most importantly, she talked about the importance of speaking out about mental health.
"It’s such a priority because mental health is everything and people don’t treat it as such, which is terrifying to me," she said.
It is truly inspirational how Lili views mental health. She went on to talk about how we should treat our mental health just like our physical health.
"People need to treat mental health like physical health. If you have a broken bone, you go to the doctor. If you have depression, people just say, 'Everyone’s depressed, right?' A lot of people don’t do anything about it and that to me is sad. I know sometimes it’s hard to reach out and I want to just say that it’s so normal."
Lili brought up the fact that most of the time, we do not take mental health seriously. And that is something that really needs to change.
"Why aren’t we talking about this more? Why isn’t it more of a normalized conversation in health class? Or between parents and kids? It should be more of an open conversation."
Lili is absolutely right!
We applaud her for using her platform to speak out about such an important subject.
