Lili Reinhart posted a throwback pic to the day she found out she landed the role of Betty on “Riverdale”

We assume you’ve been tuning into Riverdale on Netflix (if you haven’t already caught the CW show in real time) because, well, it’s the best. It’s a teen melodrama/noir/murder mystery wrapped into one, perfect hour-long treat. And our favorite girl Lili Reinhart posted a throwback photo from the day she landed the role of Betty Cooper, and it’s a great excuse to celebrate all things Riverdale (as well as Reinhart’s awesomeness!).

The T-shirt she’s wearing couldn’t be more appropriately themed, but it’s the expression on her face that really gets us. Because we can imagine that receiving that particular bit of life-changing news might be a shock to the system (in a good way), but Lily looks cool as a freaking cucumber (a cucumber that loves Archie comics, of course).

Ready for this special throwback?

Perfection!

In a subsequent post, Reinhart notes that the amazing T-shirt was given to her by Roberto Aguirre Sacasa, creator of Riverdale (who we are also incredibly grateful for).

This might be stating the obvious, but Betty is one of the most dynamic characters on the show.

We can’t wait for season two. Word on the street is it will include an empowering Betty storyline from the comic books in which she reveals her stereotype-crushing skill as a mechanic. Yessssss. Go, girl!

The countdown continues. Waiting is hard, but at least we have tons to look forward to.

Oh, and in other awesome Reinhart news, we can’t wait to see her in Melanie Laurent’s crime thriller Galveston alongside Elle Fanning and Ben Foster — adapted from a novel by True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto. Wow, Reinhart is having an excellent year, and we’re here for every moment of the wild ride.
