Lili Reinhart had a rare candid moment about her relationship status with Cole Sprouse

Looks like another Hollywood rumor has been officially shut down (not that we’re shocked). After being plagued by gossip that they broke up this summer, Riverdale star Lili Reinhart unofficially-but-officially set her relationship status with Cole Sprouse straight. In a recent interview with Coveteur, Reinhart let slip that she’s already planning a couples Halloween costume with her “boyfriend, Cole.”

The answer came in response to the journalist’s question about Reinhart’s proficiency with special-effects makeup. After Reinhart said that she hadn’t really done much of that makeup in a long time, she transitioned to talking about how she might use it for an upcoming Halloween costume.

"I think I’m leaning in toward a character for Halloween. I think I’m going to do it with my boyfriend, Cole. I don’t want to spoil it if it’s not going to happen, but it’s a TV duo," she said.

Since making their unofficial couple debut at the 2018 Met Gala, the Riverdale actors have remained pretty tight-lipped about their relationship—other than the occasional sweet birthday messages on Instagram. 

But at the end of July, a “reliable source” purportedly overheard Reinhart and Sprouse discussing their breakup at Comic-Con, sending the rumor mill spinning. And if their joint clap backs on Instagram were any indication, Reinhart and Sprouse seemed a little frustrated about the speculation. In response to the rumors, both actors posted their W Magazine cover photo on Instagram; and Reinhart, like a boss, captioned hers: “BREAKING: A reliable source has confirmed that none of you know shit.”

To which we responded: kudos.

Ultimately, Reinhart’s relationship with Sprouse is really none of our business, even if we are rooting for this insanely beautiful couple’s happiness together. To be honest, we’re kind of more excited to see Reinhart swindle some Wall Streeters (with J.Lo, in Lucite platforms) in her upcoming flick Hustlers. Talk about boss energy, right?
