Thank you Lifetime, for this mini ‘Family Matters’ reunion
This year has given us some pretty amazing reunions, from Fuller House to plans for the return of Gilmore Girls. Now, the latest reunion to hit our screens is giving us major TGIF nostalgia. The Winslow family, of Family Matters fame, is coming back into our lives … sort of.
Lifetime is premiering a new movie this Saturday, called The Flight Before Christmas. In it, Reginald VelJohnson (who played Carl Winslow) and Jo Marie Payton (aka Hariette for most of the series) star as a couple who run a bed and breakfast in rural Montana. They come to the rescue of two strangers stranded by a canceled flight on Christmas Eve, and it’s safe to assume that hijinks ensue.
No one will blame us if we just pretend Carl and Hariette moved to Minnesota and opened a B&B, right? After all, they did live in Chicago on Family Matters, so it’s not that much of a stretch.
While there’s no Steve Urkle or any of the Winslow children appearing in the movie, the film does star Mayim Bialik, aka Blossom herself. Think of it as the crossover episode we never had but so desperately needed.
The Flight Before Christmas premieres at 8pm on Lifetime this Saturday.
