On November 8th, the future of our country will be decided — but, because Election Day falls on a workday, it’s common for parents to run into childcare issues. That’s why select YMCAs are doing something awesome for parents on Election Day, and offering free or reduced childcare (varying by location) for people who are eager to rock the vote, but may struggle to make it to the polling station with their children in tow.

Kevin Washington, president and CEO of YMCA of the USA, wants to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to make their voices heard in this election — but he knows that childcare presents roadblocks for some parents.

A list of participating Y locations can be found on the organization’s website.

The Y deserves major credit for doing everything in its power to ensure that everyone is able to exercise their right to vote in this historic election.
