You know that age old saying “men are from Mars and women are from Venus?” Well, according to some experts, women may actually be the ones who are better suited to exist on Mars.

A new mini series by National Geographic that hits the small screen in November actually explores a “fictional Mars settlement” under command of a female engineer and mission pilot, which TBH, is really, really cool!

However, there’s an actual science behind the whole concept of the mini-series. Award-winning journalist and author of How We’ll Live on Mars Stephen Petranek explained:

Of course, there are other factors that determine who exactly is the right candidate to go on a mission to Mars because, well, not just anyone can go to space. Although, we think it’s important to note that 4 out of the 9 active astronauts are women, so who knows? Maybe there will be an all-female team on a mission to Mars in the near future!
