Oh, wedding toasts. They can be total tearjerkers or embarrassing disasters (just watch any wedding reception scene in a sitcom if you want proof). But when this brother was writing his toast for his sister’s wedding, he didn’t disappoint with a Hamilton parody rap at her wedding ceremony.

Matt Rotner forwent the traditional wedding speech in place of a song inspired by the opening number in the hit musical Hamilton.

According to Rotner, his family shares a love of Broadway and went to see Hamilton in October 2015 – just weeks after his sister Jenna and now-brother-in-law Ross got engaged.

“I turned to my mom and said, ‘Well, I know exactly what I’m doing for the wedding,’” Rotner told The Huffington Post. “I thought, ‘Hey, I might not be able to sing well anymore, but I know I can write these rhymes and put on one hell of a show.’”

And a hell of a show, it was! We would have killed to be in the room where it happened.
