Prepare to fall in love.

Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS for short) posted a video to Facebook yesterday, and the short clip is melting hearts all over the Internet, ours very much included. The video shows a dog being comforted while she’s coming out of anesthesia, post surgery. A surgical assistant rocks her in his arms and makes little cooing noises. The whimpering puppy begins to calm down, and it’s all just TOO MUCH for our hearts to handle. Set your eyes (and ears) on the sweetness below:

The dog’s name is Meesha, and according to The Dodo, she’s doing great. Her surgery was a standard spay procedure, and she’s now been adopted by an awesome new owner.

Dennis Moses is the scrubs-wearing man in the video, and like any amazing human who works to save animals’ lives every day, he enjoys comforting dogs when they’re confused after surgery. He says, “If you’ve ever had surgery, you wake up, and you’re not sure where you’re at. It’s a scary thing even for dogs and cats, especially being in the shelter and being that young.” (BRB crying.)
