You have just gotten one step closer to your dream of living like Harry Potter, thanks again to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Because if walking around Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure or Diagon Alley at Universal Studios wasn’t satisfying enough, you can now spend Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! For the first time ever, Universal Studios will be decking the halls Harry Potter style, so summon some tickets with an Accio spell ASAP.
In a blog post and video, Universal Orlando Resort announced how, starting November 2017, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be decorated for — and celebrating — Christmas.
While we’ve already drooled over the idea of eating Christmas dinner at Hogwarts as part of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, this Harry Potter-themed Christmas celebration is much closer to home for anyone in the U.S.
As Christmas was always a big moment for Harry in J.K. Rowling’s book series, it’s only right that the theme parks should be celebrating the holiday in all of its festive glory. That’s why the Wizarding World will feature Christmas-themed decorations and food, live music in both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, and a nighttime Christmas show at Hogwarts.
Although Florida doesn’t exactly have the type of weather Harry and crew usually experienced while they celebrated Christmas at Hogwarts, don’t worry about that subtropical plot twist. This magical Christmas celebration is too good for us to be concerned about whether or not there will be snowy landscapes for Hedwig to fly around. (Sorry, Hedwig!)
So though we usually favor a White Christmas, we think an Orlando Christmas — with Harry Potter, of course — will suit us just fine this holiday season.
