Traveling can be stressful. Delayed flights and crowded airports, or long drives and sitting in traffic, it’s tough to make the experience enjoyable. Imagine how much better your travel days would be if you were accompanied by your canine companion or feline friend.

These hotels let you bring your pet along on vacation, some charging a pet fee and others letting them stay free of charge. Some of these hotels even have pet amenities, like a hirable dog walker or pet sitter, or even a private park for your pet to roam around in.

Scroll down below to take a look at the best pet-friendly hotels around the nation.

1 Kimpton Hotels, multiple locations

Kimpton’s pet program started 36 years ago with our founder, Bill Kimpton,” reads a press release from the boutique hotel chain. “Bill had a miniature collie named Chianti (a nod to his favorite wine). They were inseparable regulars at the front desk and lobby of our first hotel, greeting each guest that came through the door. Bill knew that pet companions helped alleviate the stress of travel. Stemming from Bill’s leadership and love of pets, we’ve organically created a rich, welcoming pet-friendly environment since 1981.” Too cute! If your pet can fit through the hotel doors, they’re welcome to stay with you in your room. The hotel doesn’t have size, weight, or species restrictions, and don’t charge extra for your furry friend.  “As long as we’re tipped off ahead of time, our teams are prepared to roll out the welcome mat.” Pet sitters and dog walkers are available for a fee.
