If you have an itch to travel this year, you better get on it fast. Why? Because the cheapest month to buy an airline ticket is January. Both Skyscanner and Hipmunk‘s annual travel planning guide (via Travel & Leisure) confirm that January is the most “cost-effective month” to book airfare, specifically if you buy your tickets during the first two weeks of the year for travel taken in the next six months.

Basically, if you want to book a last minute trip to Thailand this April, go and buy those tickets now: Skyscanner warns that international flights could become 56 percent more expensive by March.

January is not just the best time to book travel, it’s also the best time to travel domestically. Hipmunk states that January is the least traveled month of the year for U.S. residents, which means that any U.S. vacation you take this month will see fewer tourists and less crowded airports.

If you don’t have the funds to buy an airline ticket in the next two weeks, try setting an airfare alert. Kayak, Airfarewatchdog, and Google Flights all help you track flights and find the cheapest time to buy a ticket.

But what if you don’t know what flight to track?

CheapAir.com (via Elite Daily) compiled a list of the cheapest places to travel to in 2018 based on a combination of airfare, local accommodations, and excursion costs. That list includes:

Montenegro, Croatia
Spain
San Francisco, California
Thailand
Las Vegas, Nevada
India
Namibia, Africa
Washington, D.C.
New Zealand
Nicaragua
