For Gisele's last runway walk, Tom Brady had some pretty d'awwww things to say
If you’re in a relationship or have ever been in one, you know that one of the most important things your partner can do is to support you, no matter what. Whether that means helping you to make a tough decision or supporting you when you choose to take a different career path, there’s nothing like knowing that your person has your back. That’s why this adorable letter Tom Brady wrote to his wife Gisele Bündchen is tugging at our heartstrings.
First, a little backstory. Gisele took to her Instagram account a couple of days ago to announce that she would be retiring from runway modeling. This is a big deal considering she’s been the highest paid runway model for eight years running (girl made $47 million last year, alone).
According to an interview she did with Folha de Sao Paulo as reported to Yahoo!, the 34-year-old model was quoted as saying she’d decided to step down from the runway because it was what her body was telling her to do.”Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop,” she said. “I respect my body, it’s a privilege to be able to stop.” She made her final run down the catwalk on Wednesday night as a part of São Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil. Of course, she looked like the absolutely gorgeous pro that she is.
But what really makes us verklempt is the fact that Gisele’s husband, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, took to Facebook to express just how proud he is of his wife — along with a photo of her strutting her stuff during the final runway walk. Grab a tissue or two, you might need them.
It’s so great to see a celebrity couple (or any couple!) who supports one another in their endeavors and builds one another up, no matter what stage of their career they happen to be at.
While Gisele may not be completely retiring from the modeling business, we know she’s definitely got other projects in the works. And congratulations to her. Stepping down from the runway is a BIG deal, and we’re so heartened to see the man she’s chosen to spend her life is honoring both her spirit and her work.
