In need of a good, happy cry? Then you’ll love this wedding story. An Alaskan woman got a big surprise when her late son’s heart transplant recipient showed up at her wedding. The woman of the day, Becky Turney, originally decided to honor her son, Triston Green, by leaving a chair empty at the ceremony — a common move meant to honor important people who have passed on. Instead, she got to hear her son’s heart beat once more.

The recipient, Jacob Kilby, had only communicated with Turney through e-mail and by the phone prior to the big event. The whole encounter was set up by Turney’s new husband-to-be, and Turney had no idea that Kilby would show up. (Husband points were definitely earned by planning such a heartwarming surprise.)

While Kilby couldn’t replace Green, who passed away two years ago, his presence was the next best thing.

Alaska-based photography company Love Adventured managed to snap photos of the big surprise, and they’ll make you feel warm inside. One of the best photos is Turney’s genuine reaction when she put the pieces together.

Yes, Turney’s first meet-up with Kilby might bring on a few tears.

Are you ready for the most beautiful photo of all? Here’s Turney listening to her son’s heartbeat once again.

Obviously, this meet-up made Turney’s big day even better than she could have imagined. Thanks to the transplant, both Turney and Kilby have a connection like no other.

Turney also honored her late son through her bouquet, which is extremely beautiful.

As are we. We’re so glad that this meet-up took place on such an important day. We have a feeling that Turney’s son would have loved the way his memory was honored.
