Typically, storms and absolutely anything wedding-related in the same vicinity means someone has a catastrophe on their hands. But for this couple who got engaged in front of a tornado, the rules appear to be a little more lenient. They weren’t at all bothered by the fact that Mother Nature was completely losing it in the backdrop of their beautiful, intimate moment because love conquers all, people! Even tornadoes.
So, here’s something you should know before you get engaged: If your partner is a storm chaser who drops down on one knee instead of adhering to tornado safety tips like, say, not proposing while dark, scary clouds are descending from the sky, you can certainly look forward to spending the rest of your life with a defiant daredevil.
Maybe that’s not how Britney Fox Cayton would describe her new fiancé Alex Bartholomew, but based on the tornado ominously hanging out in the background of their proposal pics, we think it’s a fair assumption.
“Wow what a day. 2 (maybe 3 tornadoes), great storms and most importantly she said YES!” Bartholomew wrote on Facebook.
Yah, except most importantly (actually), the tornado and the accompanying lightning and hail didn’t completely ruin the moment.
Given the fact that this year’s twister season has already reared its ugly head far more times than we care to count, we’ll probably see even more of these types of photos, like the teen who had a tornado in her prom photo. We’re talkin’ scary stuff, y’all.
Anyway, as amazing as these pictures are, we’d really feel a lot happier (and less nervous) if these celebratory photo-ops took place on a sunny day.
Congrats to the brave couple, though!
