Looking at #therapydogs on Instagram actually makes us feel better
We have found our new Instagram hashtag obsession: #therapydogs. We’re going to continue obsessing over the pictures for the rest of the day. Maybe the week. Actually, maybe the year. Therapy dogs help so many people with so many different things. We definitely believe that all dogs can be therapy dogs, but these dogs have been specifically trained to do the job correctly. Alongside their owners, therapy dogs spend time with people who need them. They are trained to provide affection and comfort to people in hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, hospices, disaster areas, and to people with special learning requirements. They can even help children read by providing an ear (a floppy one, usually) for listening.
Thanks to Instagram and the hashtag #therapydogs, the rest of the technologically savvy world can benefit from them as well. As Mic pointed out, owners of therapy dogs have been snapping photos of the animals at work and posting them to Instagram, and they are so so so adorable. We are so thankful for therapy dogs and their owners. They truly make a huge difference in so many lives. They’re making our lives better just looking at them.
