Vero has taken the App Store by storm within a matter of days. The social media app, which some are calling the “new Instagram,” has officially reached the #1 spot in the App Store. According to a February 26th Mashable article, Vero had been downloaded over 500,000 times in just 24 hours. But alongside the hype, Vero has gotten some massive critique as many users claim the app is glitchy. So what can you do if Vero isn’t working for you?

After testing out Vero, we learned that patience is key. While trying to post a photo, we received two error messages saying the server connection was lost. But we dismissed the messages, the photo editing and upload went fairly smoothly. And we certainly weren’t alone in experiencing these malfunctions.

Earlier this month, Independent.co.uk noted that the app completely shut down, leaving potential users unable to sign up and existing users unable to post. Vero attributed this to the sudden high traffic on the app.

The company has been posting frequent tweets, since February 21st, thanking users for their patience while the app deals with technical difficulties.

If you’re one of the many who has experienced bugs after downloading Vero, there isn’t a whole lot that can be done. Most of the glitches must be fixed internally by Vero.

Vero’s website has a hefty Help Center page where users can check out FAQs and learn more about how to use the app. Unfortunately, most of the FAQs have less to do with technical difficulties and more to do with app functions.

Vero’s growth has been so quick, it seemingly hasn’t had the chance to tailor its platform to accomodate such a large number of users. In order for Vero to find success, it will have to iron out these wrinkles to keep people interested.

Its ad-free, chronological setup has true potential. But until we can use the app without wanting to pull our hair out, we’ll stick to Instagram.
