The newest iPhone is reportedly getting rid of an annoying feature we've dealt with for a long time
There’s nothing more annoying than searching for a charger and outlet when your phone’s at 20% battery, right? Well, if the rumors are true, the next iPhone will be blissfully free of that annoying feature — and will include wireless charging.
You read that right. Wireless. Freaking. Charging! That means you’ll be able to charge your phone over the air, without the aid of a cord or even a charging mat. Hooray!
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has been called “the most reliable voice on all things Apple” by the Cult of Mac blog, there will be three versions of the iPhone 8 released this year and all will include the wireless charging feature.
The only issue, Kuo says, is that wireless charging will cause the temperature of the phone to rise, so the devices will have to include additional tech features to keep the iPhone cool.
The cooling feature will cost Apple an estimated $5 more per phone, which — along with other features such as a curved screen and fingerprint recognition feature right on the screen — could raise the cost of the iPhone to more than $1,000 per device. Yikes!
So start saving your pennies, y’all. It’s hard out here for an Apple enthusiast!
