It seems like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are all constantly making moves to become more and more like… well… each other.

Back in March, Snapchat revealed a messaging interface that’s not entirely dissimilar from Facebook messenger. And earlier this week, Instagram introduced Instagram Stories, a feature that allows users to use photos and videos to create Snapchat-like stories that will only be available for 24 hours.

And now, Facebook has just made a major change for users in Brazil and Canada that rivals the best part of Snapchat — its filters.

Facebook has launched its very own face filters! The purpose of the new feature is to help users create shareable photos with Facebook, instead of importing pics from other apps like Snapchat or Instagram (which we all do constantly).

It’s no coincidence that Facebook’s face filters are being rolled out on the same day as the Olympic opening ceremony in Rio — because the new feature includes many Olympic-themed filters.

But don’t get too attached just yet.

The new filters will only be available throughout the Olympics. After that, there will likely be tweaks made before it’s released on a wider scale.

And by tweaks, we mean adding updated (and maybe even better?) versions of the filters we already know and love — like the dog, the flower crown and the filter that turns your head into a weird pear shape.
