This groom's epic pledge to his tiny stepdaughter makes us happy cry
You will feel every single feeling when you watch this video and don’t say we didn’t warn you. Ever since NASCAR driver Brian Scott’s wedding video hit the web earlier this week, he’s become the viral video world’s very favorite groom.
The video is of Brian and his bride Whitney’s wedding, and it’s gotten well over a million views. Why? You ask. Why does this video have ovaries exploding from Seattle to Miami? Well, it’s a wedding video after all, which means LOTS of candles and sentimental music, so right off the bad that gets us in our heart place. But the real happy-tears experience hits us at the 4:10 minute mark.
While Brian and Whitney stand at the altar, Brian bends down to exchange some personal vows with his new 3-year-old step-daughter (*sobs*).
He says: “Brielle, can I tell you something? I promise to always hold your hand and skip with you down the street and bring comfort to your life. I vow to make you say your prayers before you eat. I promise to read you stories at night and to always tuck you in real tight. I vow to show you how a man should treat a woman in my relationship with your mother. And above all else, I vow to protect you, care for you and love you forever.”
He confesses that he knew he would probably get emotional during his vows to his wife, but what he felt when he bent down to Brielle took him by surprise. He told The Huffington Post, “I misread that one. It was really when I was reading my vows to Brielle that I got the most choked up. It really all just hits home in that moment — you’re there and dressed up and all the people around. You’re living in the moment. It affects you more than when you write it or plan for it or practice it. You get engulfed by it.”
Happy ending times 1 trillion.
