Being a teacher is easily one of the most amazing but exhausting professions of all time. Taking care of kids is tough work; but contributing to their education and growth is even tougher. Of course, it’s a very rewarding career that’s absolutely essential to maintaining a functioning society of educated humans. Nonetheless, it does come with quite a few major pros and cons — and in TV Land’s new series Teachers, we finally get to see all the ups and downs of daily life at a school from the teachers’ perspective. The show is all kinds of amazing, and a total must-watch. The incredible comediennes of The Katydids bring a hilarious new light to what happens when you work at an elementary school.

Here are just a few of the best and worst parts of being a teacher, as illustrated by the ladies of Teachers — and for more, tune in to TV Land on Wednesdays at 10:30pm.

Getting to have winter/summer/spring breaks

Having to field friend requests from all your students on Facebook

Being surrounded by awesome kids all day

Dealing with the troublemakers

Eyeing up the cute, single parents during teacher conferences

Having to talk to parents about their child’s behavior

Getting a free glamour shot once a year on picture day

Having to delete all photographic evidence of you from the Internet

Helping a student finally understand a concept or lesson

Having to keep your emotions in check when you’re frustrated or angry

But of course, the absolute best part of being a teacher is making a difference in a student’s life

Teachers airs Wednesday nights at 10:30pm on TV Land.
