Second "Lego Batman" trailer is here to remind us that Lego Batman is our favorite Batman
Over the years, there have been a lot of Batmans. Like, roughly half a dozen, which means we could have a different Batman for every day of the week. TBH, in this crowded caped crusader field, it’s hard to stand out from the pack — but recently, one has emerged as the clear frontrunner. He’s even got a new movie coming out!
No, not that Batman. The other recent Batman. The small plastic one made out of Lego pieces and voiced by Will Arnett. Lego Batman is BY FAR the best Batman of the last decade, and he’s so good at being Batman, he gets not one but two movie trailers for his new movie.
Last week we got a first glimpse of what the Lego Batman movie is going to look like. This week, we’ve got a glimpse of just how much Lego Batman is going to sulk, brood, and be Sad Batman. This new trailer brings us to Wayne Manor, where the Wayne Family butler, Alfred, notes that Batman has gone through a sulking slash brooding phase in, “2016, and 20012, and 2008, and 2005, and 1997, 1995, and 1992, and 1989. And that weird one in 1966.” AKA, all the years Batman movies were been released.
As Lego Batman notes, he’s aged SO WELL. We’ve also got our newest Batman mood, Tantrum Batman. He’s the best.
The only thing better than these two trailers would be if we got a THIRD trailer showing us this Batman’s Joker, who happens to be voiced by Zack Galifianakis. So much yes. Is it too early to start an Oscar campaign for this movie?
That’s a serious question. The Lego Batman Movie flies in to theaters on February 10th, 2017.
